Academy Skid Cars

The academy skid cars are operational and is used frequently for all our driver training sessions (both law enforcement and jail.)  They get rave reviews from all hands as an extremely valuable training tool.  High speed skids of all types as well as pursuit maneuvering can be practiced at relatively slow and safe speeds.  The cars are trailerable and can be brought to outlying agencies upon request.  Call or e-mail Karen Deane<kdeane@rrcja.org>

Driver Training Program Trailer

The Academy has purchased a new trailer to haul the skid car.  The trailer also contains traffic cones, traffic signs, an air pump, various tools and everthing needed to bring the entire Academy Driver Training program to your agency location.  Call Karen Deane at (540) 371 2875 to get the ball rolling.

Academy get new FATS IV Decision Making System

The Academy Firearms Training Simulator has been upgraded to the latest technology.  The system is simpler to operate, has two system controlled weapons and many new branching scenarios to test your decision making ability.  The instructor has greater ability to control the scenario branches based upon actions taken by the tested officer.  The system has a joy-stick controlled return fire cannon which shoots safe foam rubber bullets at students who fail to take the proper cover and concealment at the proper time.  Click on the above link for some photos of the new FATS.
