New class hours for Fredericksburg campus:  0730 - 1600, 1/2 hour lunch break.  Beginning 1 January 2009, ALL Fredericksburg campus academy classes, basic schools and in-service classes,  will begin promptly at 0730 and end at 1600.  The new hours are an effort to tighten up our programs, reduce down time and conserve energy and dollars.  It may take a little getting used to but for only a 1/2 hour earlier start, we get you home an hour earlier!  We use less electricity for lights and heating/air conditioning and 10 minute or less  class breaks and 30 minute lunch breaks will be the norm and reduce down time.  Instructors will tighten up their classes making it imperative students arrive on time for all classes and are in their seats at the end of break time.  The Middletown and Hanover campuses will continue their normal hours.

Policy change for Law Enforcement Auxiliary Basic- In the past, in order for an auxiliary school to start, 15 students had to be on the sign up list by the 1st of September of any given year.  Agencies have found it difficult to meet this timeline.  In order to alleviate the situation, the academy registrar has been directed to maintain a standing list of auxiliary students and, whenever throughout the course of the year the list gets to 15 names, the academy will start an auxiliary basic school within 30 days.
